Biography

My name is Sherene Mostaghimi and I am a newly licensed attorney in Minnesota as of January 2023. I also recently became licensed in New York as of September 2023. My father was born in Iran and immigrated to the United States when he was 19 or 20 years old. He married my American mother approximately ten years later and they raised four daughters together. My father came to the United States to get an education and struggled with the difficulties of acquiring a new language, culture, and way of life. The stories he has shared with me have impacted my perspective on life and have helped me view the success I've achieved as an attorney as a continuation of the legacy of my grandmother, my father, and now to me. I hold great gratitude for what I do and honor that by being an attorney that has integrity and a big heart to fight for clients who have experienced injustice.

I understand the complexities and the ever changing atmosphere of immigration policy in the United States. I know how important it is to be detail oriented and thorough to ensure that every client does not have to experience delays, extra costs, and devastation if a case gets denied. I have worked over the course of five years in employment, family, and humanitarian immigration in private law firms such as Webber Law Firm, Roberts Immigration Law Group LLC, EK Law Office PLLC, Contreras Edin Law, and now Jarvis-Fleming Law Ltd. I have also worked at nonprofit organizations such as Legal Services NYC, Safe Passage Project, and Kids in Need of Defense. Over the course of the last five years, I have learned that you never stop learning as an immigration attorney and this makes me eager to continue learning.

I enjoy being able to help immigrants get on the right path to secure a stable future for themselves and their families. I believe they have the right to live a happy and dignified life just like everybody else and that their contributions to our country are beneficial and do not take away from the rights and opportunities provided to others.
